CHRISTMAS FELLOWSHIP
Organization goals usually leads to projects that require various degrees of planning dedication, and hard work, But the goal to pursue activities that promote camaraderie require that members relax, enjoy and simply have fun.
Venue chosen by the SUAF to comply with this mandate is the Annual Christmas Fellowship Gathering. All members of the SUAF are invited to the gathering with reminders to include their younger kids.
The SUAF provides the "calorific and cholesterolific" lechon to top off the days menu.
The festive occasion is highlighted by the special dishes that members bring to share. It is well established that store bought food cannot compete with the food that is prepared with pride and love.
Special time is given to remind all about the "reason for the season" and to put "Christ back into Christmas" celebrations. Time is also reserved for the usual gift exchange games for all as well as fun games for children and adults.
Not surprising that adults savor and appreciate the traditional Filipino dishes and delicacies that the younger set seems to shun What is surprising is that adults play with more enthusiasm and have more fun in participating in "silly" games.
SUAF members are sensitive and well aware of the fact that not everyone can find the time to attend meetings, participate in social activities or contribute labor on work projects. Scheduling conflicts at home and at work cause many to miss out in the opportunity to combine fun and work with fellow Sillimanites.
Despite of all these demands, the Christmas Fellowship event is well attended. Members make it a point to mark their calendars and reserve this as a "will not miss" event. Thanks to everybody the Christmas Fellowship event helps define the role that the SUAF plays in the lives of Sillimanites in San Diego .
