Election 2008-2009 Results

SUAF @ SD held elections on October 19, 2008 at the Serra Mesa/Kearny Mesa Library to select Sillimanites who will be accorded the honor, privilege, and responsibility to lead our organization from 2009 thru 2010.

A Nominating and Election Committee, headed by Alma Pinili-Lavergne, vetted the candidates not only for ability but also for availability and willingness to commit time and energy to serve.

An innovation instituted by the Committee was to expand the election process to include voting by Postal Mail and Email to supplement the traditional voting in person at the polling venue.

The new procedure successfully increased the number of members who were able to cast their ballot and thus more members contributed toward the goal of consensus building.

Also new is the addition of Elective Board Members to supplement the number of permanent Board Members who are past presidents of our organization.

The newly elected officers will be inducted in February 2009.
