Founder's Day Picnic 2009
Dear SUAFers,
I hope you had a great time at the Picnic as I did. I was happily surprised especially by the presence of guests from all over: Zach Lao from SD, the son of Jay Lao; Gay Lao Molina and husband, John Molina from the Philippines; Kate Garrovillo, the grand daughter of Vivien; Mimi Fabugais, the sister of Precila F. Garrido from the Philippines; niece and nephew of Precy from the LA area; Maricor a friend of Sonia Sheeks; relatives of Priscilla Madrid, and maybe more but missed their names. Of course, seeing the regular members is always a treat. And how about the lechon? I think it was "skinned" in record time. Our gastronomic juices were rewarded by the culinary geniuses amongst us. The Filipino games led by John was quite a blast and the board games were enjoyed by many. It was a wonderful time of celebration.
A big thank you to Priscilla Madrid who found the venue for us and who brought a lot of stuff. Grateful acknowledgments to Amelia Buluran and Fely Narvaez for contributing to the lechon. To John who masterfully chose and led the Filipino games. To Manny Narvaez for the use of his truck to load the lechon and also his expertise with the knife. And to EVERYONE who came: THANK YOU FOR COMING!!! Your presence is always a big plus to everyone.
I do hope to see you at the General Business Meeting on Saturday, September 26 at 11:30 a.m. at the Mira Mesa Library.
