A Scholar Chosen
The Silliman University Alumni and Friends at San Diego (SUA&F @SD) association is proud to announce that Jason S. Tubog, an incoming sophomore at the College of Business Administration, was granted a scholarship by the association for the 2010 school year.
Jason, who hails from Masaplod Sur, Dauin, Negros Oriental, is an accountancy student and was an awardee of the Tenorio-Mendiola scholarship for his freshman year at Silliman. He graduated as valedictorian of the 2008 Dauin National High School class, a class of 300 students, and had won several provincial and regional contests in mathematics, journalism, the South Asian quiz as well as the science and population quiz bees. His love for mathematics developed early on while he was in the elementary grades and becoming the provincial champion twice in the mathematics competition and garnering the third place spot in the regional competition while in high school are testament to this fact.
His instructors, who consider him among the top students in the college, have recognized his honesty, diligence, industry and desire to achieve. Jason was one of the 2010 Silliman Class Honors awardees and the SUA&F at San Diego wish him continued success at Silliman University.
