A Tribute: Manny Narvaez - Goodbye dear Friend.
On May 12, 2012, Manny Narvaez passed through the heavenly gates to be in the midst of his Lord and Master where he can rest in peace and where discomfort and illness is replaced with joy and everlasting life.
Manny will be remembered as one who defines the word FRIEND in the Silliman Alumni and Friends @ San Diego
We fondly remember the numerous times and places where Manny has given of his time and effort in support of the SUAF.
Manny offered a "manger" for the birth of the SUAF by working tirelessly to set up his garage with the necessities to successfully conduct the historic first election of officers for the organization.
Manny was supportive of all SUAF activities and events exemplifying the term "labors of love". He consistently was in the look out for items that was at the brink of falling into the cracks and took appropriate actions to avert potential disasters.
He never sought recognition or numeration for all the things he did. He was always the first to lend a hand in the set up prior to events and clean up operations after events.
He volunteered to get up at 3 in the morning to reserve the desired site for the annual SUAF summer picnic.
He has placed himself in harms way to avert a potential fire hazard at the Christmas Fellowship event.
On numerous occasions he has transported the needed equipment to facilitate the conduct of events.
These are just a few of the many contributions that he had done before the events even began.
One of Manny's more visible contribution earned him the title of the SUAF Lechon guy. The SUAF would not have been able to successfully serve the staple of Filipino Cuisine without Manny's expertise in "carving" and serving the lechon for all to enjoy.
The organization will always remember and be indebted to Manny for being "all that he could be" as a Friend to the SUAF @ San Diego.
Manny's presence and the many gifts of caring that he had shared with all his friends at SUAF, will be greatly missed.
We visualize a heavenly meeting between Manny and the Angel of Good Work
Angel: Your have done real good my friend.
Manny: No big deal. I only did what friends do WITH and FOR good friendsTo Manny our friend, we say ... "Goodbye, dear FRIEND".
